First they ran my credit card, I knew I would be very late, so I was nice enough to call and say that. When I arrived 3-4 am, the woman said my credit card was rejected "several times" and they cancelled my room. Since I was notified by text earlier it had been charged, this was impossible! So why bother lying? Weird. I paid for my room again, with my debit card. Lucky I still had one.
The rooms were dirty and they smelled of urine when the air conditioner was on and the room also smelled like cigarette smoke when we asked for a non smoking room. The bathroom sink and bathroom had hair everywhere. The bed sheets, blankets, and comforter were nasty dirty and had cigarette burns and dirty spots all over them! Needless to say my boyfriend and I slept in our clothes on the bed and took a blanket that we had brought with us from home and put it on the bed to lay on and to cover up with too. We would have tried to get another hotel to stay in, but it was too late and all the hotels around were all booked up! Also, we had just drove almost 8 hours to get there and we were worn out and tired. The door to our room would not lock at all and we were told by the manager that all the doors to all the rooms would not lock at all!! This is not safe at all for anyone!!
Worst experience. Walls were dirty with all kinds of mystery stains. House keeping would not come daily to clean. When management was asked about cleaning schedule, I basically had to beg to get someone to come clean the room. Didn't feel safe to leave some personal items in hotel. Had a handicap individual with me and bathroom was extremely small. Roaches!! Just a bad experience all around. I will not stay at another motel 6 ever again.
I did not have a good experience this visit. The lady who checked me in on Nov 5 was great and very courteous. I explained to her that I had mistakenly booked for Nov 2 originally (the day I was sitting at my computer to book this trip) and wondered if I could get a refund. I did not know that I had put the wrong until I received an e-mail survey the day I left home. So I booked the right day Nov 5, but I could not cancel the old date as it had already passed. She was kind and said the manager would take care of that in the morning. In the morning the manager ignored me and the front desk young man was cold and did not show any compassion when I relayed the story and he denied to give me credit. Yes, it was my mistake (a senior moment) for putting the wrong date in the original reservation, but I did stay there one night, but now have to pay for two. At least show some understanding even if you cannot give me credit on my account. I have used Motel 6 over the years when traveling by myself and this is the first terrible experience. I would not stay at this particular Motel 6 again. The room was OK, but did not have a stopper in sink and shower had poor control of the flow.
At 10:00 am, some foreign guy was banging on my door!!! He was housekeeping, and could only say "checking out?" I was livid.
I would have put a negative number on this place. The room was filthy durty! The heater/ac has caked on fuzzy stuff. When it was turned on it blew a big puff of smoke that set off the fire alarm. Dirty walls and floor. It was like they hadnt touched it in months. This place is a health hazard and should be turned in. Ive never had a problem with motel 6 before.
We had also argued over check out time. The woman said 11:00, though my confirmation as well as the notice on my door said NOON. I had to go back to the office for this, because the phone did not work. The bathroom was clean. I let the room try to cool off while I cleaned up.
I put the "do not disturb sign out, and got some sleep.

There was nothing that my boyfriend and I liked about this hotel! The bathroom, bathroom sink had hair all over it and there was no warm water to take a shower. It was right by the highway and there were train tracks right behind the hotel, in which we heard the train go by all night. The traffic noise was horrible. Prostitutes hanging around outside our room all night! They charged us for our room before we even got there, and we wered told by the last working behind the desk and by the manager also that they charge everyone at 6:00 pm for there room, even if they have not got there yet, not right at all!! We tried to call the hotel several different times before we got there to let them know when we would arrive there, and the phone just kept ringing and ringing and no one answered at all!
The only parking spot left however was taken by a truck in two spaces. They said he wouldn't move it. I finally make it to the room, and had to take pictures of the disgustingly dirty bedspreads. I pull sheets out of both beds to sleep with and remove evrythng else. Then my feet were black. I took wash cloth, took a pic of it clean, wiped the area between beds closest to nightstand (unused floor) and it was black!
Why would the company Motel 6 let this owner put their name on this place?
I know I picked a cheap hotel. All I needed was a clean, safe place to crash on my road trip.
